Big Bounce Tournament Info

Tournament Cause:

Proceeds from the event will go to the Big Bounce Foundation. The Big Bounce Foundation raises money for youth in at-risk communities to participate in volleyball programs.

Since its inception the Big Bounce Foundation has raised over $3,000 through various community volleyball events.

Divisions Offered:

Adult and Youth divisions have competition in separate female and male divisions.

Registration Deadline

The registration and payment deadline for the Open division is Thursday, August 26 at 23:59.

Walk-up registration will be accepted for all other divisions until 9am on Saturday, August 28.

Note: payment on the morning of the tournament will result in a $10 convenience surcharge being added.

Categories Defined

Open: Players have advanced skills and knowledge of the rules; have usually played in an elite league, high school or city league. Teams are highly competitive.

A: Players have intermediate skills and a firm knowledge of the rules; have played in a competitive high school or city league. Game are still competitive.

B: Players new to the sport, just learning the skills and rules of the game. Emphasis on fun over competition.

18U: Born in 1992 or earlier

16U: Born in 1994 or earlier

14U: Born in 1996 or earlier

Prizes

All registered teams will receive a free Big Bounce beach jersey from our sponsor VSP Sports.

Open division: Champions and Finalists receive cash prizes. Champions also get their name engraved on the Championship Trophy

Youth, A & B divisions: Champions and finalists receive prizes from Big Bounce and other tournament sponsors.

Playing Time

All registered teams are granted free access to the Big Bounce clinic from 8:30 - 9am on the tournament morning.

Following the clinic, athletes will have 'free play' access to the courts until pool play begins.

Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 matches in the tournament, but most teams will play many more.

Pool Play and Playoffs for Open Division
There is no cap in any set.

Pool Play: Teams will be entered into pools of 3. All matches are best of 3 (21, 21, 15).

Playoffs: All teams make playoffs. Single elimination format, all matches are best of 3 (21, 21, 15).

Pool Play and Playoffs for A, B, Youth, Coed 4s

There is no cap in any set.

Pool Play: Pools of 4 teams. Teams will play 2 sets to 21 in pool play.

Playoffs: All teams make playoffs. Single elimination format, all matches are best of 3 (21, 21, 15).

NOTE: In the coed 4s division teams must have a minimum of 2 girls on the court at all times for all matches.

Payment and Weather Policy
All payments for the tournament are final.

Failure to show up for the tournament will result in the forfeiture of your entry fee. Failure to pay for the tournament by the registration and payment deadline will result in a $10 convenience fee charge.
